History of Daisy Farms .... from David Daisy
My grandfather, Albert Daisy, along with his wife Agnes, six sons and one daughter, lived on a farm one mile East of Millburg, Michigan in the 1930's. They made their livelihood growing fruits, vegetables, and strawberry and raspberry plants to sell to local customers.
Then, in 1950, my parents Dewayne and Francis Daisy, along with me and my 3 sisters moved to the Keeler area. Here my parents grew various small fruits and vegetable crops. My father also grew strawberry plants which he advertised in local newspapers. He also started growing for Dean Foster Nursery in early 1970.
I then took over after my parents retired in 1981. We officially started operating as Daisy Farms, and have since grown millions of plants. We ship to about 20 states and to Canada. This includes strawberries, asparagus, raspberries, rhubarb and horseradish.
Over the last 80 years much has changed. Instead of digging with a potato hook, we now harvest with machines that do the work of a whole crew of men, in a fraction of the time.
Daisy Farms also picks fresh strawberries for sale and has "U-Pick" available at our farm on highway M-152, just North of Dowagiac, MI. For more information on fresh berries and U-Pick, click here.
If our plants do not arrive alive and in good condition, we will, upon prompt notification, replace the plants or refund their cost. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description above, no warranties of merchantability of fitness, and no liability for incidental or consequential damages.
