Jersey Giant (Sold Out) - Very vigorous, produces high yields, high disease tolerance,
and produces well in cooler climates. Green spears with purple bracts.
Jersey Knight (Sold Out) - Vigorous variety, has high yields and excellent disease tolerance. The Knight produces the best spear quality of all the Jersey male hybrids. Performs well in warmer climates. Green spears with purple bracts.
Jersey Supreme- (Sold Out) This is a new variety for the 2001 spring season. Production is found to be higher in Michigan trials. Due to late seeding, plants will be smaller, but of good quality. (limited amount)
Mary Washington- (Sold Out) Open pollinated variety. Medium to large purplish tinged, tightly-budded. Grows well throughout Midwest.
Purple Passion- (Sold Out)
Prolific, large, good flavor, open
pollinated purple variety.
Viking KB-3 - (Sold Out)
Select open
pollinated variety developed over many years of field trials. A
hand-selected and improved strain of Mary Washington variety.
Asparagus Root Planting Guide
Most commercial growers plant approximately
10,890 plants per acre.
Spaced approximately one foot apart in each row. With each row being
approximately four feet apart.
